The highest salary out of the 32 industries analysed was for Doctors in the United States- earning £122,215 annually.
The second highest paying job was for Psychologists in Slovakia – converting to £117,866.76 a year.
The remaining eight industries with the highest wages were all found in Switzerland – the third highest paying role overall was for Lawyers at £106,840.58.
Further insights:
- Turkey has the lowest cost of living in the OECD and also has the lowest average salary at £6,708. Their comparative price level of 36 indicates that if you were to find a job in Turkey for the same salary you are currently earning, you could see yourself about three times as well off.
- Switzerland had the highest cost of living out of countries analysed, with a comparative price level of 139, 39% higher than the OECD average. Unsurprisingly they also had the highest average salary at £72,197 and held the highest wages for almost every job role analysed.
