For non-residents, the path can be riddled with questions and uncertainties. That’s why we’ve crafted this comprehensive guide to demystify the NIF online Portugal application process for non-residents and ensure a smoother journey.

Why non-residents need a NIF

Possessing a NIF is indispensable for non-residents looking to engage in an array of activities in Portugal. From purchasing property to opening bank accounts, conducting any significant transaction typically requires a NIF. Moreover, it ensures you’re in legal compliance and facilitates any tax-related obligations.

Pre-application considerations

Before diving into the application process, non-residents need to prepare certain documents. These typically include proof of residence from your home country and a valid passport. Additionally, non-residents must appoint a tax representative in Portugal, a mandatory step to ensure smooth communication with Portuguese tax authorities.

Step-by-step NIF application process for non-residents

  • Collection and preparation of documentation. Ensure that you have all the necessary documents in place. Some may require official translations or notarizations.

  • Appointment booking. You can set up an appointment online or at a local tax office. While you can opt for a walk-in, appointments save time and hassle.

  • Application submission. During the appointment, present your documents and tax representative details. The tax representative acts on your behalf for tax matters.

  • Payment of fees. A nominal fee is associated with the NIF application. Ensure timely payment to avoid delays.

  • Receiving your NIF. Once approved, you’ll receive a document bearing your unique NIF number.

Key differences in the process for non-residents

The primary distinction between the processes for residents and non-residents revolves around the requirement for a tax representative. While residents can communicate directly, non-residents, given their overseas location, need an in-country representative to bridge potential communication gaps.

Common challenges and solutions

For many non-residents, language barriers stand out as a primary challenge. Engaging a local translator or using digital translation tools can be beneficial. Delays in documentation can be mitigated by starting the process early and staying in consistent communication with the Finanças (tax office). Concerns about selecting a tax representative often arise, but partnering with trusted agencies or consulting with locals can guide you to reliable representatives.

Using online platforms for application

The digital age ushers in convenience even in bureaucratic processes. Online platforms, especially e-residence.com, have emerged as saviors for non-residents seeking to acquire a NIF. Not only do they provide clarity on the process, but they also offer unparalleled support, ensuring that you’re not navigating the maze alone.

Post-application considerations

Upon acquiring your NIF, it’s essential to remain updated with any shifts in tax regulations or changes in NIF-related norms. If there are alterations in your residence or contact details, timely updates with the tax office are crucial. Also, bear in mind the NIF’s perpetual validity, meaning it doesn’t expire, but staying informed ensures you avoid any pitfalls.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs) by non-residents

  1. “How long does my NIF stay valid?” Your NIF is valid indefinitely. It doesn’t have an expiry date.

  2. “What if I change my residence or contact details?” Update your new details with the tax office promptly to avoid communication gaps.

  3. “Is the NIF application process different if I plan to become a resident soon?” The process remains similar. However, once you attain residency, consider updating your status to ensure all benefits align.

A game-changing solution

While the NIF application process can appear daunting initially, being equipped with the right knowledge simplifies the journey. A comprehensive understanding, coupled with the right resources, ensures that non-residents can acquire their NIF with minimal hiccups.

In this digital age, online platforms have reshaped the way we approach bureaucratic processes. Among these platforms e-residence.com stands out as a luminary. Their user-friendly interface simplifies the application process, translating it into a series of manageable steps. Security is paramount, and with e-residence.com, users can be assured of top-tier encryption and data protection. Real-time updates ensure you’re never left in the dark, wondering about your application’s status. But perhaps the platform’s most defining feature is its dedicated support, guiding users through every step, clarifying doubts, and ensuring a smooth NIF acquisition process.

For those standing on the precipice of their NIF application journey, opting for a service like e-residence.com isn’t merely a choice, it’s a wise decision. Dive into a seamless experience, and secure your NIF with efficiency and peace of mind. Step into the future of bureaucracy, digital, streamlined, and user-centric. Your NIF journey awaits, and with it, an experience unparalleled.

The Complete Guide to Immigration and Visas in the UK https://www.universenewsnetwork.com/2023/05/24/the-complete-guide-to-immigration-and-visas-in-the-uk/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=the-complete-guide-to-immigration-and-visas-in-the-uk https://www.universenewsnetwork.com/2023/05/24/the-complete-guide-to-immigration-and-visas-in-the-uk/#respond Wed, 24 May 2023 16:56:19 +0000 https://www.universenewsnetwork.com/?p=7361 The United Kingdom is a popular destination for individuals from around the world, seeking opportunities for work, education, tourism, or to join family members. Understanding the various UK visa types and immigration processes is crucial for a successful and seamless journey.

A UK visa is a vital document that allows entry into the United Kingdom. It can be in the form of a stamp in your passport, or a document issued by a British consulate or embassy in your home country. Whether you plan to visit the UK temporarily or settle permanently, obtaining a UK visa is an essential step in the immigration process.

UK visas serve various purposes, catering to the diverse needs of individuals. Let’s explore some of the most common types of UK visas

  1. Business Visas

For individuals planning to engage in business activities in the UK, there are specific visas available. These visas enable entrepreneurs, investors, and business professionals to contribute to the UK’s economy. Examples include the Innovator visa, Investor visa, and Start-up visa.

  1. Family Visas

If you have family members already residing and working in the UK, you may be eligible for a family visa. This type of visa allows you to join your spouse, partner, child, parent, or relative in the UK for an extended period. The Spouse visa, Fiancé visa, and Unmarried Partner visa fall under this category.

  1. Settlement Visas

Settlement visas, also known as Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), grant individuals the right to live, work, and settle permanently in the UK. To be eligible for ILR, one usually needs to have resided in the UK for a minimum of five years and meet specific criteria.

  1. Study Visas

The United Kingdom is renowned for its world-class educational institutions, attracting students from all corners of the globe. Study visas allow international students to pursue their academic ambitions in the UK. Student visas, Child Student visas, and Short-term Study visas cater to different educational needs.

  1. Transit Visas

For individuals passing through the UK en route to another country, transit visas may be necessary. These visas ensure a smooth transit experience and require individuals to prove their intention to continue traveling beyond the UK.

  1. Visitor Visas

If you plan to visit the UK for leisure, tourism, medical purposes, or to visit friends and family, a visitor visa is the appropriate choice. These visas grant individuals the right to stay in the UK for up to six months for non-work-related activities.

Applying for a UK visa involves specific procedures and requirements, varying based on the type of visa you are seeking. Here are some general guidelines to consider:

  1. Determine Visa Type: Identify the most suitable visa category for your purpose of visit, considering factors such as employment, education, or family-related matters.
  2. Gather Required Documents: Each visa type requires specific documentation. Generally, you will need your passport, photographs, relevant visa application forms, proof of accommodation, proof of funds, and a travel itinerary.
  3. Submit Application: Complete the application form accurately and submit it along with the required documents to the appropriate UK authorities. Ensure that you meet the specific eligibility criteria for your chosen visa category.
  4. UK Visa Processing Time: The processing time for UK visas can vary depending on factors such as the type of visa and individual circumstances. It is advisable to plan well in advance and be prepared for potential delays.

UK visa applicants are required to pay fees to the Home Office for processing their applications. The amount you need to pay depends on the type of visa and the country from which you are applying. Here are some examples of UK visa application fees:

  • Visitor visa (valid for up to 2 years): £489
  • Student visa – main applicant and dependents: £490
  • Tier 1 investor – main applicant and dependents: £1,292
  • Family visas – Adult dependent relative: £3,250

Please note that these fees are subject to change, and it is essential to refer to the official UK government website for the most up-to-date information.

To track the progress of your UK visa application, you could contact the relevant visa application centre if you applied outside the UK. If you submitted your application within the UK, you could get in touch with the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI), which is a division of the Home Office. Do note that contacting these entities may involve additional fees.

Citizens of Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, or the United Arab Emirates have the option to obtain an Electronic Visa Waiver (EVW) instead of a traditional visa. An EVW costs £30 and allows a stay of up to six months for vacation, business, study, or medical treatment purposes. However, it’s important to check if your specific travel reason requires a different type of visa.

Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) is a residency status that allows individuals to live, work, and settle permanently in the UK. To qualify for ILR, you typically need to have lived in the UK for at least five years and meet specific criteria. ILR is a significant milestone on the path to British citizenship.

Navigating the world of UK visas and immigration can be complex, but with the right information and guidance, you can successfully obtain the appropriate visa for your needs. Remember to consult the official UK government website for the most accurate and up-to-date information.

Application Process for Panama Friendly Nations Visa https://www.universenewsnetwork.com/2023/03/09/application-process-for-panama-friendly-nations-visa/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=application-process-for-panama-friendly-nations-visa https://www.universenewsnetwork.com/2023/03/09/application-process-for-panama-friendly-nations-visa/#respond Thu, 09 Mar 2023 11:42:27 +0000 https://www.universenewsnetwork.com/?p=6383 The Panama Friendly Nations Visa is one of the options available for immigrants looking to become residents of the country. Applicants must meet specific requirements, including establishing professional or economic ties with Panama. If you qualify, you can get a provisionary residency status for a couple of years and apply for permanent residency afterward. Here’s an overview of the friendly nations visa application process:

Eligibility for the Friendly Nations Visa

The Friendly Nations Visa is for citizens from specific countries with professional or economic ties to Panama. You must be a member of the approved countries to apply for the visa. Applicants can bring their spouse or eligible children, including full-time university students.

If you’re approved for the visa, you can apply for a work permit indefinitely and obtain a Panamanian ID. You have two primary ways of proving professional or economic ties with Panama. The first is by being hired as an employee of a Panamanian company. Your second option is directly incorporating a company, which makes you an investor.

The company doesn’t have to hire employees but can’t be dormant. The immigration commission will also review your economic position. Applicants must deposit at least $5,000 in a Panamanian bank account to prove solvency. If you bring dependents (spouse or children), you must deposit at least $2,000 for each extra person.

Visa Application Requirements

Applying for the Panama Friendly Nations Visa involves the official applicant and optional dependents. Main applicants have different requirements from dependents and include a valid passport, 2nd ID, and passport-size photos. You also need to prove economic solvency.

Proving economic solvency is possible via three options. The first is through a job offer from a Panamanian company, and a work permit. The second option is purchasing real estate with a minimum value of $200,000. Your third option is an investment of at least $200,000 in a fixed deposit for at least three years at a Panamanian bank.

Applicants must also provide a health certificate issued by a local doctor. Bring your latest health certificate issued within 90 days of submitting the application. Other requirements include a criminal background check, power of attorney, and repatriation and application fees sent to the National Immigration Service.

Panama Friendly Nations Visa Application

The application process for the Friendly Nations Visa is divided into simple phases with specific timeframes between each phase. Applicants get a two-year provisional residency permit before obtaining a permanent residency process. The process can take three years because of the period between phases. Here are the four steps of the friendly nations visa application process:

1.     Obtain Temporary Residency

This phase involves applying for and obtaining a temporary residency. You and your dependents must travel to Panama to get your photos taken by the Panama Immigration Office. You can meet with an attorney to complete the paperwork, register your passport, and submit the application. The immigration office will issue a temporary residency ID. If you plan to go back home, request a multiple-entry visa.

2.     Obtain Provisional Residency

If your initial application goes through, expect a provisional residency ID from the immigration office. The ID is valid for two years, during which you must upload all necessary documents to prove that you uphold the visa requirements. You can hold the provisional residency permit while you fulfill the requirements. Once you meet all requirements and complete the 2-year wait time, you can apply for permanent residency.

3.     Obtain Permanent Residency

This phase involves applying for permanent residency in Panama. The process takes six months to issue a resolution. The applicant and dependents can receive permanent residency cards If the application is approved. You can also apply for the national ID (E-Cédula). Once your Friendly Nations Visa application is approved, the national ID option is open. Permanent residency gives you the same privileges as other Panamanians and the foundation for becoming a citizen.

Working With a Panama Immigration Law Firm

The easiest way to apply for a Panama Friendly Nations Visa is through a reputable law firm. Experienced Panama immigration lawyers know the paperwork and qualifications required for the application. You can hire a law firm to help you meet the visa requirements and complete the necessary paperwork. Lawyers can also offer professional insights, including the best Panamanian banks to open and when to be physically present in the country.

Morocco, Philippines And Japan Top Adventure Destinations For Brits This Spring https://www.universenewsnetwork.com/2023/01/30/morocco-philippines-and-japan-top-adventure-destinations-for-brits-this-spring/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=morocco-philippines-and-japan-top-adventure-destinations-for-brits-this-spring https://www.universenewsnetwork.com/2023/01/30/morocco-philippines-and-japan-top-adventure-destinations-for-brits-this-spring/#respond Mon, 30 Jan 2023 16:38:00 +0000 https://www.universenewsnetwork.com/?p=6015 London (January 30, 2023) – Morocco, Philippines, and Japan are the top searched destinations for adventurous UK residents who expect to travel in the first quarter of 2023, according to the latest insights from travel insurance provider World Nomads.

Post-pandemic, searches for travel insurance policies spiked significantly year-on-year. But between 1 December 2022 – 22 January 2023, Morocco featured heavily in searches, with demand up 1,585%. Searches for policies to the Philippines were up by 1,042% whilst there was a 533% increase in searches for policies for Japan.

World Nomads has noticed customers, on average, are purchasing insurance just two weeks out from their trip. A brand survey conducted by World Nomads in December with UK customers also revealed that consumer confidence in travel is returning to pre-COVID levels. Of those surveyed, 77% said ‘there is nothing stopping me from booking travel’.

When asked how many trips they plan on taking in the next 12 months, 33% responded they intended to travel 2 to 3 times, with 15% indicating that they would travel more than 6 times. As many as 66% of respondents said they planned on travelling to a new destination, whilst ‘relaxation and disconnection’ (31%) and ‘outdoor adventure’ (23%) were the primary motivations for travel.

Jonathan Frankham, World Nomads General Manager UK and Europe, said: “Our insights show that there is a clear demand for far-flung destinations and whilst different in their offering, Morocco, the Philippines and Japan each have adventure and excitement in abundance.

“Having adequate travel insurance is important for long-haul destinations. Our data shows that on average customers purchase insurance two weeks before their trip starts, but by doing so you’re potentially missing out on coverage that may provide some recourse in the event of something happening before leaving the country. If you’re covered from the point of purchase, then you may be protected if certain events lead to your trip being cancelled or postponed.

“If activities are part of your holiday itinerary, consider a policy that will provide cover for overseas medical expenses in the event of an accident. Medical care can be expensive and bureaucratic in Japan for example. Whilst Japan offers universal health care for residents and those staying more than a year, everyone else is expected to carry some form of travel insurance at all times. Doctors may refuse to treat you without it. So, it’s important to do the research on your destination and choose a policy that works for you.

“World Nomads insurance policies are designed with adventurous travellers in mind. We offer cover for over 200 sports and activities and our customers value holidays where they discover new places, experience different cultures, and create lifelong memories through unique experiences,” said Mr Frankham.

Morocco is blessed with mild temperatures in winter and spring, and boasts year-round kitesurfing as well as camel adventures and trekking. For those who want a more relaxing holiday, the second week of February sees the town of Tafraoute host its annual Almond Blossom Festival, which brings visitors from around the world to see the blossoming trees, traditional dance displays and enjoy delicious food.

Early spring in the Philippines brings blue skies, sunshine, and little chance of rain. There are slightly fewer crowds compared to the rush of visitors who typically travel at the beginning of the year. March to April is also one of the best times in the Philippines for scuba diving, an activity for which World Nomads also offers cover.

Japan was one of the last countries to reopen following the COVID-19 pandemic, having only lifted its travel restrictions in November 2022. It is popular for its cherry blossom season from late March to early April. February is a fantastic time for avid skiers, with epic conditions on the slopes of Niseko and Hakuba. Mild weather in the south makes February a good time to explore the cities and towns.

Other destinations where travel insurance policy searches were significantly higher in comparison to the previous year include:

  • Vietnam – up 484%
  • Malaysia – up 367%
  • Netherlands – up 333%
  • Romania – up 200%
  • India – up 186%
  • Australia – up 183%

The Fines You Could Receive Thanks to the New Highway Code https://www.universenewsnetwork.com/2022/10/07/the-fines-you-could-receive-thanks-to-the-new-highway-code/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=the-fines-you-could-receive-thanks-to-the-new-highway-code https://www.universenewsnetwork.com/2022/10/07/the-fines-you-could-receive-thanks-to-the-new-highway-code/#respond Fri, 07 Oct 2022 09:54:44 +0000 https://www.universenewsnetwork.com/?p=5385 The Highway Code was updated in January 2022; and with it, there have been several changes to pre-existing rules that motorists are to abide by. However, a survey by AA Accident Assist found that only 39% of British drivers have read these new rules, and a subsequent survey conducted by Nextbase found that 70% of respondents don’t understand the new rules.

The new rules being introduced to the Highway Code are designed with the safety and well-being of those on the roads in mind; but how effective are these rules in preventing accidents and saving lives? In this article, we’ll give you an overview of the Code’s history as well as how things have changed over time. We’ll also look into what the most recent changes will mean for motorists on the road going forward.

A brief history of the Highway Code

The first edition of the Highway Code was published in 1931 when there were approximately 2.3 million motorised vehicles sharing the road with horse-drawn carts and carriages. Composed of 21 pages of advice, information, and adverts for oil and petrol companies, it cost a single old English penny and was the first attempt to collate information for educational purposes for motorists.

The book has received multiple amendments and updates over the year, creating many iterations that reflect the evolution of motoring in the UK. One of the most significant updates came with the Road Traffic Act, 1934. This act introduced the now standard 30-mph speed limit in built-up areas as well as the exemption for fire engines during emergencies. But the most important change it brought to the world of motoring in Britain was the necessity to test new drivers before they are classed as road-safe with the option to stop the issue of licences or vehicle sales to reckless drivers.

Evolution over decades

Our understanding of road safety has evolved over 91 years since the Highway Code was first published. Cars have become more of a mainstream and accessible commodity, going from 2.3 million cars to 32.8 million cars registered in the UK at the end of 2021.

In fact, even after the Code was first introduced, there were 7,202 reported road user deaths in 1933. In comparison, the statistics coming out of 2021 reported 1,560 road deaths, which was a 12% reduction from 2017–2019. From this, we can see that as driving has become a natural part of day-to-day life for so many of us, our understanding of road safety has reduced fatalities significantly.

The new changes and what they could cost you

So, what are the most recent changes to the Highway Code that you should know to avoid fines? The first thing to note is the change to the hierarchy of people on the road, with pedestrians being the most vulnerable and therefore placed at the top. Cyclists are next, with cars following them and heavy goods vehicles taking the last spot on the list.

As a result, this changes how drivers must look at road position, junctions, and even more things we may have taken for granted when initially driving. For example, when a cyclist is ahead of you on the road, you should leave at least 1.5 metres, or 5 feet, between you and the cyclist when driving at 30 mph. If there are riding horses, then that distance should be increased to 2 metres (6.5 feet) to avoid startling the animals. The new hierarchy also revises how motorists must approach junctions and roundabouts, as pedestrians crossing roads at junctions and cyclists on roundabouts now take priority.

Disobeying the Highway Code is a criminal offence that can come with a heavy fine, as well as points on your licence which could lead to disqualification from driving with repeated or serious offences. While the lowest fines that motorists could field are between £500–£1000, if you were seen to be careless or inconsiderate behind the wheel the fine could be 3 to 9 penalty points on your licence and an unlimited fine based on how bad the incident was.

We’ve come a long way from horse-drawn carts to a Mercedes GLA. Updating the Highway Code has shown that over time the levels of casualties on the road can be decreased significantly, which is why road safety measures develop as our understanding grows. Making sure you’ve read the most recent changes and keeping up to date on when new laws will come into place will prevent you from being hit with fines you didn’t know were a possibility.

Holiday Travel Safety Tips During COVID-19 https://www.universenewsnetwork.com/2022/07/27/holiday-travel-safety-tips-during-covid-19/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=holiday-travel-safety-tips-during-covid-19 https://www.universenewsnetwork.com/2022/07/27/holiday-travel-safety-tips-during-covid-19/#respond Wed, 27 Jul 2022 08:25:29 +0000 https://www.universenewsnetwork.com/?p=4929 Many people will travel to see loved ones for the holidays, whether it’s for Christmas, New Year’s, or another occasion. In light of the rise in COVID-19 cases in some parts of the world and the emergence of more transmissible variants, it is crucial to keep an eye out for symptoms of COVID-19, get vaccinated as soon as it is your turn, and always adhere to public health and social measures to help prevent transmission (that is, Delta, and Omicron).

This is especially crucial to keep in mind if you plan to travel over the holidays with Skycapnews and are at risk of being exposed to the coronavirus. Even if a COVID-19 test comes back negative before your trip, you should still be on the watch for signs of disease.

Here are six things you can do to keep yourself and your family safe this holiday season:

When going outside, you should always wear a mask:

Public transportation passengers, including those on airplanes, are required by the CDC to wear protective face coverings. Because of this, we can confidently say, “Masking works, and it prevents you from catching COVID-19 and preventing you from spreading the virus to other people if you are ill and don’t know it. Have a mask that fits well and is comfortable to wear for the duration of your trip.

Check COVID-19 rates where you are going.:

Check local COVID-19 infection rates. Even if you’re immunized, you can catch COVID-19 in a hotspot. Before booking international travel, U.S. citizens can check the State Department’s travel advisory page for information on virus outbreaks and entry restrictions. Vaccination history may affect these. Vaccinated foreign nationals are exempt from mandatory testing in Europe.

Get away from the hordes of other tourists:

You can allow yourself a bit more personal space in the terminal than you will on the airline, train, or bus. Keep at least 6 feet of space between you and the next person. It is crucial to wash your hands often and carry disinfectant wipes because many viruses and germs can survive on surfaces even though COVID-19 is largely communicated through the air.

Don’t travel if you feel sick:

You shouldn’t travel if, during the past 14 days, you’ve been in contact with someone who is ill with or has shown symptoms of COVID-19. As an added precaution, you shouldn’t travel with someone who is sick. Even if the infected person does not have COVID-19, they may still be able to spread it to others if they have a previous condition.

Carry a wipe:

Maintain a supply of sanitary wipes at all times to protect yourself from contamination. The cabin of the Aeroplan is disinfected between each trip by the flight attendants, but you can also use the sanitizing wipes that are provided to further sanitize your personal space. It is not a source of embarrassment to tidy up your seat on an Aeroplan, train, or bus if you feel the need to do so.

Take care to enter the region with caution.

  • Once you get to your destination, don’t let your guard down on preventing the spread of COVID-19.
  • Please keep at least one meter of space between yourself and the vehicle’s doors as you enter, wait in line for, or exit.
  • Follow the COVID-19 protocol established by local authorities while arriving at a station, port, or airport.
  • When possible, crack the windows to let in some fresh air.
  • Seek quick medical assistance if you see any symptoms of COVID-19. However, the most commonly reported symptoms of COVID-19 infection are fever, dry cough, and tiredness. Other, less common symptoms include a lack of taste or smell, stuffy nose, conjunctivitis (red eyes), sore throat, headache, muscle or joint pain, skin rash, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, chills, and disorientation.

Benefits of Participating Life Insurance https://www.universenewsnetwork.com/2021/12/21/benefits-of-participating-life-insurance/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=benefits-of-participating-life-insurance https://www.universenewsnetwork.com/2021/12/21/benefits-of-participating-life-insurance/#respond Tue, 21 Dec 2021 12:55:28 +0000 https://www.universenewsnetwork.com/?p=3827 Farshad Asl once said, “I don’t call it life insurance, I call it love insurance. We buy it because we want to leave a legacy for those we love.”

There can be few better summaries of what life insurance truly is.

For a better perspective, let’s get into some details about what life insurance is and why it is so beneficial for you and your loved ones.

Life insurance is an agreement where, upon the insurance policy holder’s death, the insurance company will pay a lump sum of tax-free money to the beneficiaries.

In return, the policyholder will have to pay the insurance company a fixed amount of money over time.

This is a good way to leave a sum of money for the people you love. If your spouse, parents, or children are dependent on your income, then buying life insurance can be a good idea.

Life insurance benefits can help replace lost income when the policyholder passes away, which means that the beneficiaries could use this money to cover their daily expenses, debts, loan payments, and more.

There are different types of life insurance policies, with different benefits.

One such benefit is the shared profits between the policyholder and the insurance company. This is a type of life insurance called Participating Life Insurance. These policies can further be divided into Participating and Non-Participating Life Insurance Policies.

Let’s dive into their definitions to understand their respective benefits, pros, and cons.

Participating Life Insurance

It is a type of permanent life insurance that provides the policyholder (buyer) with guaranteed lifetime coverage. All they need to do in return is to pay the policy premiums as per the guidelines of the insurance company.

As the name suggests, this policy allows the policyholder to participate in the benefits of the insurer (insurance company.) This is one of the most lucrative benefits of this policy in that it enables the buyer to share the profits of a life insurance company like Manulife for example. These profits shared are in the form of bonuses or dividends.

Non-Participating Life Insurance

On the contrary, a Non-Participating Life Insurance plan does not enable the policyholder to participate or receive any kind of benefits that the insurance company earns throughout the year. This means that the policyholder will not receive any bonuses or dividends too as opposed to what the Participating Life Insurance Plan offers.

But that doesn’t mean that this policy doesn’t have its benefits. Instead of shared profits, this type of life insurance offers the policyholders with some other guaranteed benefits and maturity.

Some Pros and Cons of the Participating Life Insurance Policy

Participating policies can cost less than non-participating policies over the long term. With cash value policies, the dividend increase as the policy’s cash value increases.

Whole life policies are risk-free because the insurance company bears all risks. However, in Participating Life policies, the insurance company will shift some of the risks to the agreement owner.

We have already discussed that this policy allows a policyholder to share in the profits of the insurance company in the form of a dividend.

This dividend can be used for various purposes like:

  • To use it to pay the insurance premium
  • It can be left with a life insurance company like The Co Operators to generate interest. Or the policyholder can take a cash payment like that on a stock
  • You can take your dividend as cash, buy more insurance or pay for your existing coverage

How does it work for you?

  • Pay your premiums and your policy’s cash value grows tax-free overtime
  • Your payments go into the participating account that is managed by the insurer
  • You receive dividends based on the participating account’s or the insurance company’s overall performance and profits

Participating in life insurance is an excellent solution if you are:

  • Looking for lifetime protection and significant savings potential
  • Interested in innovative ways to save for retirement or to more make plans for your estate
  • Concerned about the effect of inflation on your death benefit

Benefits

Participating in whole life insurance provides the following benefits:

Death benefit

The death benefit and any paid-up additions are distributed tax-free to named beneficiaries.

Retirement funds

A whole life insurance policy can be used to build supplemental retirement income.

Annual vesting

Policy dividends are used to buy more paid-up insurance in your policy. They form a new accumulated cash value “floor”. That is guaranteed and cannot decrease unless initiated by you, the policy owner.

Account growth

Guaranteed cash values and policy dividends kept in your policy are not subject to tax on the growth during your lifetime.

This will help you meet your long-term financial goals and transfer assets to your beneficiaries.

Access to cash

You can access the accumulated cash value of your policy at any time. It is accessible through policy loans, through policy withdrawals of the cash value, or by pledging the accumulated cash value as collateral for a tax-free line of credit — which provides you with added liquidity and flexibility.

Flexibility

Another benefit of whole life insurance is its ability to offer you some flexibility. With its potential to accumulate a cash value over time, you have the option to use this cash for a variety of reasons.

The Bottom Line

Participating life insurance can be a good option if you are looking for coverage for your family, along with an investment component attached to it. As always, it’s best to contact your life insurance broker to see if this type of life insurance is right for you.

4 Tips to Boost Your Child’s Confidence https://www.universenewsnetwork.com/2021/11/16/4-tips-to-boost-your-childs-confidence/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=4-tips-to-boost-your-childs-confidence https://www.universenewsnetwork.com/2021/11/16/4-tips-to-boost-your-childs-confidence/#respond Tue, 16 Nov 2021 10:51:29 +0000 https://www.universenewsnetwork.com/?p=3607 Since technology dominates our lifestyle, it’s a harsh reality that our interpersonal skills are getting worse day by day. The older generation, however, is still the master of rhetoric and other communication techniques. But that category of people has failed to transfer the least portion of such skill sets into their children.

A child of today is incapable of speaking with confidence. Even with his parents, he/she lacks the courage to talk with them. The fear is there, no doubt, but since there is so much lacking in confidence, he just avoids talking in the early years. From house to early level education, that child occupies his mind in digital entertainment and other fun activities. Parents also believe that since their child is happy, everything is good. Little do they know that too much indulgence in tv shows, cartoons, and media can disturb the balance of children’s overall life skills.

Not only during communication but in every upcoming year of adolescence and further, the child will remain dependent on decision-making, participation, and other crucial moments of life. And what about the long-term damage? Well, the bad news is the child who always depended on others due to lack of confidence will never fight or take a stand for his right.

The Good News

But there is good news too! Everyone is covered in the digital era. That doesn’t mean that every child is going to be raised dumb. Humans are completely free to choose what they like. The gift of sole authority provided to us makes us capable of choosing between right and wrong. Therefore, we have an open hand to select what’s the most optimal way for us to live in this world.

From that authority, we can raise our kids in the best way despite having so many distractions.

1.      Give Time to Your Children

This concept is often misunderstood. To give time means to give complete attention to your child. If he has to say something, let him do it. If he has nothing to talk about, it’s your responsibility to ask him about his day. Invest time in your child in a friendly way so that he can be more open with you. Being a parent and giving time to your children, it’s more necessary than you can imagine.

When you give your precious time to your kid, you give him the confidence to speak up. It also shows that no matter what, you’ll always be there for him, ready to listen.

2.      Keep a Balance in Entertainment

Watching cartoons or playing games is not Illegal. But you are well aware of the fact that everything beyond its limit is an addiction. Same goes with entertainment. When your kid comes to this world, his mind freshly grasps whatever attraction is there. Since every moving object becomes an attraction for the baby, too much involvement with such kinds of things makes him an addict. Digital entertainment captures your kid’s mind in a dangerous way.

To control this, you have to make a brief schedule with slots like entertainment, story, sports, walk, game, and sleep. You can also maximize your entertainment’s quality in the very timeslot by applying the YouTube TV promo code.

3.      Let Your Child Lead the Way

Give responsibilities to your child from an early age. Those would be duties suitable for his age. Express your trust in him by giving him work that’s easy but challenging for him. While your kid struggles to fulfill your order, you become a supervisor that only helps at the final moment.

Give guidance to your child on how your responsibility will increase with time. Keep on giving him the chance to lead the way, and when it starts to bother him, you take the wheel.

4.      Promote Literature in Your House

Apart from all those activities, it’s mandatory that your kid acquires the habit of reading and writing on a regular basis. Doing so will subconsciously promote the love of literature in the young brain. Once that habit becomes firm, you will see a positive change in how your kid listens and speaks. His ability to grasp new concepts will flourish. He will seldom get bored while studying. And ultimately, he will become mature, wise and visionary at an early age.

Latest research from Just Sanitise shows men are letting the side down when it comes to hand washing https://www.universenewsnetwork.com/2020/08/27/latest-research-from-just-sanitise-shows-men-are-letting-the-side-down-when-it-comes-to-hand-washing/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=latest-research-from-just-sanitise-shows-men-are-letting-the-side-down-when-it-comes-to-hand-washing https://www.universenewsnetwork.com/2020/08/27/latest-research-from-just-sanitise-shows-men-are-letting-the-side-down-when-it-comes-to-hand-washing/#respond Thu, 27 Aug 2020 07:02:19 +0000 https://www.universenewsnetwork.com/?p=746 A new research study undertaken by Just Sanitise, a leading manufacturer of WHO approved hand sanitiser, has shown that a staggering number of men are still not washing their hands well enough to halt the spread of Covid-19.

The public health advice to wash hands for more than 20 seconds was the message sent out to the nation because it was the simplest and quickest way to protect individuals from catching and spreading the illness.  However, this in-depth research has shown that one in five of UK men and up to one in four 25 to 44-year olds especially are ignoring this sound advice.

Just Sanitise conducted their research of 1,500 men, across the United Kingdom, and it was the men who were aged between 35-44 from England who were the least likely to be thorough when washing their hands.  Singing two verses of the “Happy Birthday” song was deemed a simple way to time hand washing, and yet men in England were the worst, compared to Scottish and Northern Irish men, at following this simple advice.

The survey showed that it was Welsh men who took their hand washing seriously with 95% of them surveyed washing for the full 20 seconds.  English men were the by far the worst with one in five washing for minimal time.

Nine out of ten women across all of the nation’s took the advice of the government and the WHO seriously washing for the full 20 seconds every time.  The women who were over 65, and often considered to be more vulnerable from Covid-19 were the most hygiene conscious with a 95% success rate for the 20 second hand wash.

Just Sanitise, is an alliance of businesses based in Aberdeen, manufacturing 80% alcohol hand sanitiser spray that kills bacteria and is effective against viruses, including the human coronavirus. Its hand sanitiser passed a BS EN 14476 test that shows it takes two minutes to be effective against coronavirus.

The alliance has been helping address the supply and demand issue for effective bacteria and virus-killing sanitiser across both the public and private sector.

Central to Government advice at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, Health and Social Care Secretary Matt Hancock told the nation on the importance of washing their hands more often, washing for 20 seconds, using soap and water or hand sanitiser. He explained that washing hands regularly is the single most important thing that an individual can do to protect against Covid-19.

Nicola Hartland, Co-founder and CEO of sanitiser firm Just Sanitise, said:

“With such high profile, Government-led campaigning to help the UK fight Covid-19, it came as something as a surprise to see such high rates of non-adherence to such important guidance.

“The recent clusters in Leicester, areas of the North West of England, as well as Aberdeen, have been a massive blow for the economy, particularly for the hospitality, leisure and hair and beauty sectors, but it has also been a wake-up call that the health, safety and protection of staff and customers must be a priority as we continue to fight this ongoing battle with a deadly virus and it’s crucial that businesses invest in the most effective PPE.

“We are currently working with businesses and community group across lockdown areas, providing sanitiser donations, helping them during the current restrictions and supporting them for eventual reopening.”

The current high volume of unsolicited calls during these difficult pandemic times is not acceptable. Some are targeting vulnerable groups of society, like the following complaint for example: “+1 (715) 227-6089 – We get calls from this number at all hour day and night. Some very early. I have a 95-year-old mother in a nursing home and she is not well. When I get these calls at odd early or late times, I jump up to get the phone thinking the nursing home is calling me! When I have answered I repeatedly tell them to take me off of their list but they still keep calling!” – reported by Stevenson –  https://reverd.com/blog/1-7152276089   This must stop.
